Humber Polytechnic (College)
Professor
2015 – today (Full-time since 2019)
I am currently a full-time professor at Humber Polytechnic College (teaching since 2015). I have also been an industry mentor at George Brown College & guest lectured at York University.
I bring over 20 years of experience in both print and interactive design. My background includes working with a wide range of clients and environments, and have worked in agency settings, in-house teams, start-ups, and as a freelancer. I’ve held senior creative roles including Creative Director at Indigo, Art Director at The Canadian Broadcasting Company, & Art Director at Havas Montreal. My interest in creative exploration has also led to exciting collaborations with artists at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in New York and Hexagram in Montreal.
My creative toolkit includes Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, along with strong HTML and CSS skills. I specialize in typography, layout design, branding, image editing, and UX/UI design. I make a point of staying current with design trends and accessibility standards to keep my work (and teaching) relevant and forward-thinking. While I’m cautiously exploring the role of AI in the design process, I’m committed to keeping creativity rooted in thoughtful, human-centered design.
I hold a diploma in Graphic Design from the Nova Scotia Community College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from Concordia University, and an Master of Arts from the Bard Graduate Center in New York City.
